At Fleetware, we think it’s important to play our part in the global effort to increase equality and the quality of life for the millions of people who are much less fortunate than us. So, every month, we set aside a percentage of our subscription income to be donated to various causes.
We use an organisation called B1G1 which ensures that 100% of our giving goes towards the causes of our choice.
So, in June we supplied:
- 5 eyecare consultations for children in Tanzania
- 25 bottles of eyedrops to individuals from lower socio-economic groups in Indonesia
Eyecare Consultations
In Tanzania, approximately one million people are visually impaired, with more than 100,000 being blind. Most of these cases could be easily treated or cured, but for many, access to quality healthcare remains a challenge. Visual impairments in children have a significant impact on their ability to learn, grow, and achieve their full potential. By sponsoring five eyecare consultations, five more children can access free, quality healthcare that will allow them to thrive. Basic eyecare ensures that children not only maintain their physical health, but ensures that they are on the path to achieve their full potential through uninterrupted education.
Preventative Measures
We know that prevention is the best treatment method in comparison to a cure. It’s often a cheaper and less invasive course of action when it comes to preventing eye conditions and diseases. In Indonesia, we have supplied 25 bottles of eyedrops for those from lower socioeconomic demographics that lack the knowledge or funds to access medical care. Eye drops are inexpensive, yet effective when it comes to treating irritations and infections that could become blinding conditions if left untreated.
