Perth Security Services

The Problem

Perth Security Services are a leading security services provider and trainer based in Perth Western Australia, offering a number of services including security guards, crowd control and mobile patrol. Mobile patrol has several challenges, especially when workers are operating alone.

  • Workers can often be patrolling areas alone late at night or early in the morning, with no method of emergency contact with management or support teams except via text messages or phone calls.
  • Management has no oversight of the routes that workers are patrolling, and their behaviour during patrol shifts which make it difficult to confirm attendance, assess performance, and review activity if an event occurred.
  • As vehicles are shared between various workers, management sometimes do not know exactly who is using which vehicle during patrol shifts.

Management is also unaware of certain driver behaviours while workers are patrolling that may lead to accidents and/or brand damage, such as speeding, hard braking/acceleration, and driving without a seatbelt.

Management is also unaware of certain driver behaviours while workers are patrolling that may lead to accidents and/or brand damage, such as speeding, hard braking/acceleration, and driving without a seatbelt.

The Solution

Fleetware approached the customer with a solution to their requests.

  • Our Remote Worker trackers were installed on the customer’s patrol vehicles to track their location, speed, and accelerometer information.
  • A standard momentary switch was used as a panic button, which is required to be held in the “ON” position for 3 seconds to trigger an immediate alert to the management team.
  • Digital input wires from the Remote Worker tracker are connected to vehicle to trigger when a seatbelt is unfastened, or a door is open.
  • A standard Driver ID keypad was used to identify drivers and connect them to work performed.
  • All the data was sent to Trackd, the GPS tracking platform. There, special sensors were created to display and send alerts when the vehicle is moving and driver seatbelt was unfastened, and when the ignition was on and door open.

The Trackd reports module is used to show worker driver behaviour including maximum and average speed, mileage, engine hours, seatbelt usage and a ranking based on Trackd’s Eco Driving parameters.

The Result

The implementation of the telematics solution allowed the security patrol company to confirm worker attendance at customer sites, confirm correct patrol routes were used, and to receive notifications when accident or panic button events occurred.

Worker Safety

Management can view worker locations at any time and will receive immediate notifications when a critical event is triggered, such as an accident, or panic button so that they can take appropriate action.

Customer Satisfaction

Worker attendance to customer sites at the agreed times and frequency can be clearly shown via easy to run reports.

Time Savings & Peace Of Mind

Management is no longer required to regularly call workers to confirm their location and safety, as data is collected automatically and available to view at any time in the Trackd platform.
