On-site Pedestrian Safety with AI Pedestrian Detection System

Real-time pedestrian detection and object avoidance

Keeping pedestrians safe around mobile plant and material handling equipment is one of the biggest challenges in industrial environments. Fleetware’s Pedestrian Detection Camera System is designed to significantly reduce collision risk by actively detecting people and objects in close proximity to forklifts, reach stackers and other material handling equipment.

This intelligent, multi-sensor solution provides real-time alerts to operators while delivering powerful visibility to management through Fleetware’s cloud platform.

It’s all about safety…

The pedestrian detection system combines AI-powered camera technology, radar sensing and GPS tracking to create a comprehensive safety and asset management solution.

How it Works

Pedestrian detection

Advanced vision technology detects pedestrians entering defined danger zones and blind spots around the asset and provides instant in-cabin alerts to the operator.

Object and collision avoidance

Integrated radar sensors identify objects in the vehicle’s path, helping improve worker safety and prevent collisions in low-visibility or high-traffic environments.

Real-time in-cabin alerts

Visual and audible warnings notify operators immediately when a pedestrian or object is detected in blind spots or too close to the machine.

GPS tracking and asset visibility

Built-in GPS tracks asset location, movement and utilisation, giving you clear insight into how and where equipment is being used.

Key Benefits Of PDS

  • Reduce pedestrian and vehicle collision risk
  • Improve operator awareness in busy environments
  • Enhance workplace safety culture
  • Gain visibility of asset usage and location
  • Support safety compliance and incident investigations
  • Reduce human error and workplace accidents
  • Scalable across mixed fleets and multiple sites

A smarter approach to safety

Fleetware’s Pedestrian Detection System doesn’t just react to incidents — it helps prevent them. By combining intelligent detection, real-time alerts and cloud-based insights, it delivers a proactive safety solution that protects people, assets and operations.

Pedestrian Detection System

Has Extensive Capabilities

These are just some of the benefits that will apply to your fleet of machines. Our telematics platform, Trackd, is extremely flexible, which allows us to develop solutions to meet our customers’ requirements with ease.

Front & rear BSD cameras used to detect and alert on pedestrians both inside & outside of warehouses.*

*Unfortunately, we will not be able to set up geofences where pedestrians won’t be detected by the BSD solution.

Automatic upload of event-based video footage to the telematics platform for review.

Ability to add additional cameras to the MDVR for better around machine visibility and after event reviews.

Ability to customise outcomes based on varying alarm levels with the pedestrian avoidance solution.

A driver ID reader has also been integrated with the MDVR system. This includes using driver ID cards to tag on to each machine when starting it up.

Get notifications of over speeding when machines are operating outdoors.

Use geofences to monitor time in zones, no-go zones and speeding zones (geofence speeding will only work when the machine is outside).

Get reports on idling and run hours, and upload run hours automatically to Mainpac for servicing & maintenance.

Get insights into over/under utilised machines with our utilisation reports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our business already has batching software, so how does your solution help?

Batching is only one part in the complex readymix concrete logistics process. Our Readymix 360 platform integrates with your batching software to provide a simple and intuitive way to plan, dispatch, track and report on your deliveries to maximise the efficiency of your fleet.

Can your solution help me accurately bill customers?

Yes – in combination with telematics, our Readymix 360 platform allows you to accurately report on the time your trucks spend on customer sites. We can also fit bluetooth angle sensors to your agitators so that you can see when trucks were pouring and for how long.

Can I reduce fuel spend and manage fuel consumption?

Yes, there are a number of ways that businesses can manage their fleet’s fuel consumption with telematics, such as monitoring idle times, excessive acceleration and braking, inefficient route choices, and other poor driver behaviours.

How can I maximise asset availability?

Using telematics, you can ensure your assets are kept as available as possible through scheduled and predictive maintenance. Scheduled maintenance is where you can set required maintenance at a scheduled interval, whether it be time, mileage or engine hours. Predictive maintenance is where certain hardware can be used in conjunction with a telematics device to capture actual equipment conditions to forecast when a repair may be required.

Isn’t this going to create more work for me, with having to monitor and review activity?

Absolutely not. Our platform is incredibly flexible, and comes with many options to automate actions and notifications, from sending emails or push notifications on events, to generating and sending reports on a schedule.
