At Fleetware, we think it’s important to play our part in the global effort to increase equality and the quality of life for the millions of people who are much less fortunate than us. So, every month, we set aside a percentage of our subscription income to be donated to various causes.

We use an organisation called B1G1 which ensures that 100% of our giving goes towards the causes of our choice. This month, our focus was providing housing and shelter to those that need it most.

So, in September we supplied:

  • 90 days of housing for the elderly in India
  • 200 days of shelter for homeless children in Vietnam
  • 90 days of housing for underprivileged families in Vietnam

Homes for the Elderly

In India, elderly people end up homeless for various reasons. Some have been abandoned by their children due to financial difficulties; some never married and are now too old to care for themselves; whilst others have lost their only child that provided their entire household income. This project supports the Sri Paramahamsa old age home that provides dignity, comfort and care to 80 elderly residents that would otherwise be left homeless. With our ageing population, it has never been more important to support and maintain the health and wellbeing of the elderly during their later years. Providing 90 days of housing to an individual at Sri Paramahamsa is more than just shelter – it includes three meals each day, excursions to temples, activities, and most importantly, a community that they can call home.

Shelter for Homeless Children

In Vietnam, children often leave their families and hometowns with the hope that they will make a living in the big cities. However, the challenges and dangers that they face are far greater than they often realise. Spending their nights sleeping rough on the streets leaves these children vulnerable to abuse and exploitation, not to mention the risk of joining criminal gangs in an effort to survive. Supporting this project means that these children will have somewhere safe to spend each night and warm meals each day – giving them the stability they need to grow, learn and reach a brighter future.

Housing for Those That Need it Most

Additionally in Vietnam, underprivileged families from the Mekong Delta region typically live in poorly built shelters with leaky roofs and shaky frames. Aside from living in a structurally poor home, these families also face frequent sickness and poor living conditions, particularly during wetter seasons. This project helps to build and maintain stronger and more durable homes with recycled, eco-friendly materials. These homes provide a foundation upon which families can rebuild their lives and thrive.

We thank all our customers for your continuous support of Fleetware and our giving efforts. These initiatives are more than just numbers. They represent real change, providing stable homes and shelters for one person at a time.
