WA Specialised Transport: Enhancing Safety and Efficiency with Fleetware

At Fleetware, we’re proud to partner with businesses across Australia who are leading the way in safety, innovation, and operational efficiency. One of those businesses is WA Specialised Transport, a company well known for handling some of the state’s largest and most complex oversized loads.

We sat down with Matt Bronickis, General Manager at WA Specialised Transport, to hear how their team has integrated Fleetware’s technology into their operations, and the results speak for themselves.

From a Challenge to a Solution

When WA Specialised Transport faced the end-of-life of a competitor’s 3G tracking solution, the team needed a smarter, future-ready alternative. Matt explains:

“I went to the owner and said, I think it’d be a good idea to combine the camera with the tracker, and the solution was actually quite cost-effective. But what we got from it was a hell of a lot more enhanced than what we had in the past.”

Fleetware delivered not just a replacement system, but an all-in-one solution that combines live vehicle tracking, advanced reporting, and AI-powered safety cameras.

Real-Time Visibility and Safety

For a company that manages oversized loads up to 8.5 metres wide and trailers stretching 50 to 100 metres long, visibility is everything.

Matt shares how the ability to remotely access cameras has changed the way they operate:

“If we get an alert, I can check the rear cameras to see how the load is going, monitor driver fatigue, or look at the front to see the convoy ahead. The live footage gives us complete peace of mind.”

The footage has also become a valuable training tool, allowing the team to review incidents, work through reports, and educate drivers on safer practices.

Seamless Integration with Fleetrun

Beyond cameras and tracking, WA Specialised Transport has also embraced Fleetrun, Fleetware’s maintenance and service management platform.

“Fleetrun captures all the hours on the truck, which is critical for us. Our hours are more important than the kilometres we travel. If we can get the balance right, it saves the motor, saves money, reduces maintenance, and increases reliability.”

By linking odometer readings and engine hours directly into their maintenance schedule, the business now enjoys greater efficiency, reduced downtime, and longer vehicle lifespans.

Return on Investment That Speaks for Itself

Like many businesses, WA Specialised Transport initially faced some resistance to change, particularly around cameras in vehicles. But the results quickly proved their value.

“You only need a couple of incidents and the cameras pay for themselves. The ability to dial in and see what’s happening, without constant phone calls to drivers, more than offsets the subscription cost. It pays for itself well and truly.”

With regulators such as Main Roads WA and NHVR moving towards wider adoption of fatigue monitoring and in-vehicle cameras, Matt believes that technology like Fleetware’s will soon be standard across the industry:

“Anybody that doesn’t adopt it now is going to be left behind.”

A Partnership That Works

Matt was quick to point out the benefits of working with a WA-based company with international reach:

“Fleetware has been fantastic – from data compression to rear camera suggestions, they’re always looking for the next thing. Just a great bunch of people to work with.”

At Fleetware, we’re proud to support WA Specialised Transport with technology that not only improves safety and compliance but also delivers real cost savings and operational benefits.
