Driveready Australia are a passenger transport vehicle rental company which has been operating in the market for over 20 years. One of their core markets is renting vehicles for use in ridesharing and food delivery services, which poses multiple risks such as vehicle misuse and recovery.
- Rental payments on the vehicle may be missed and the company would need a way to locate and disable the vehicles for recovery.
- Rented vehicles may be driven erratically or be involved in an accident which the company would have no oversight of unless contacted by the driver.
Rented vehicles need to be routinely serviced as part of the rental agreement based on mileage. The mileage the vehicle has completed would need to be manually collected from drivers, which is not practical.

The Solution
Fleetware approached the customer with a solution to their requests.
- Our Incognito trackers were installed to all rental vehicles to track their location, speed, mileage, engine hours and driver behaviour.
- The tracker was connected to the vehicle starter motor to allow for remote immobilisation via the Trackd platform using commands.
- All the data was sent to Trackd, the GPS tracking platform. There, special sensors were created to display if the vehicle is immobilised and to detect if an accident event was triggered.
- Notifications were created to alert company management when accident events were detected.
The Trackd reports module is used to show driver behaviour including maximum and average speed, mileage, engine hours, harsh driving events and a ranking based on Trackd’s Eco Driving parameters.

The Result
The implementation of the telematics solution allowed the vehicle rental company to gain oversight and protect their vehicles, as well as monitor their accrued mileage and engine hours to schedule preventative maintenance.

Connecting the Incognito tracker to the vehicle’s starter motor allows the company to remotely immobilise the vehicle where required for recovery purposes.
Scheduled Servicing
Automatically accrued mileage and engine hours allows the company to plan and schedule preventative maintenance and servicing on vehicles.
Accident Alerts
Company management are immediately notified of any accident events that are detected, so that appropriate action can be taken.
